Twinderella The Musical (Information)

Book by Charlie Lovett
Music and Lyrics by Bill Francoeur

Description: Twinderella The Musical
Did you know that Cinderella has a long lost twin brother named Bob living in the same kingdom with his own wicked stepfamily? The separated siblings have enlisted the services of the Fairy Godmother, the Godfather (he ain’t no fairy!) and two enchanted gerbils to help wile their way into the exclusive royal festivities of Wychwood-under-Ooze. Bob has his sights set on Prince Percy’s all-kingdom baseball game, while Cinderella eyes the birthday gala for Princess Petunia. When the two strangers disappear at midnight after Cinderella hits a game winning homerun, the search is on to find the feet that fit the glass slipper and the muddy cleat! If you liked Shrek the Musical, you're gonna love Twinderella!

Does my child have to give up all other interests in order to be a part of your program?

Theatre is a big commitment of time and energy.  Each rehearsal builds on the next, so if one is missed, there will not be a "make-up" sess wion. Make sure you review the rehearsal and performance schedules in advance (Read: "What is the commitment?" next ).  Watch for conflicts with soccer, basketball, vacations, birthday parties and other activities.  If there are conflicts, discuss with your child and Director Doug in advance of signing up. Help your child decide which activities are priorities to him/her. Also, pay close attention to the "mandatory" rehearsal dates.

What is the time commitment?

The following sums up the rehearsal schedule (subject to change), including the MANDATORY Tech & Dress Rehearsals which must be committed to in full:

Many questions can be answered easily and promptly through email! doug@dougskidsonstage.com or jeri@dougskidsonstage.com

Will my child get the lead role? (This question is from all you “stage parents”):

Kids On Stage accepts performers at every level.  All you have to do to be in the show is to sign up (until class size is full)! We do not guarantee the “spotlight” for every child, but we do guarantee they will be on stage as much as is possible within the limitations of the show.  Our goal is not to raise up the next American Idol or Oscar winner, but to help performers grow incrementally from where they start.

While there are abundant roles in Twinderella The Musical., principal roles must be "earned" by audition as part of the rehearsal process. We believe that auditioning in front of their peers and the directors gives kids experience and confidence to face their fears of public speaking/singing. While they may not earn a principal role the first time they audition, it is a process that helps develop confidence and which builds on itself every time they audition.
